Successful scholars and fellows join our aSF alumni network
Fellows for Life
Who can become
A Fellow for Life?
After the completion of the Year of Service, Fellows and Scholars become a part of the ASF alumni network, formally named the Fellow For Life (FFL) network. As a former Fellow or Scholar, Fellows For Life have knowledge of the program, experience working with and learning from communities, and skills in navigating challenges. These attributes are invaluable to the continued work of FFLs internal and external to the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship.

There are several ways Fellows For Life can stay involved in the Fellowship.
- FFL Mentorship Program: Current Fellows receive additional guidance on their projects and development throughout the year by being matched with an FFL, and FFLs can continue to make an impact in the communities we serve. Mentorship matches note the preferences of both mentors and mentees based on discipline, background, population served by the project, and other considerations.
- Mini-Grant Review Committee: FFLs in the committee review applications to the ASFHG Mini-Grant every fall to award current Fellows a small fund in addition to their stipend.
- Fellow & Fellow For Life Advisory Committee: A group of Fellows and FFLs that provide guidance to the Fellowship based on their experiences from different schools, health professions, and areas of service.
- Attend optional bi-annual FFL webinars with National.
- Receive quarterly updates through the FFL newsletter.
